She believes that it is crucial to recognize that all students are not the same and do not learn the same way. The differences of the students are what make them unique. A primary goal, of Mrs. Christmas, is to provide students with the skills, attitude, and knowledge needed to function within their own culture as well as the mainstream culture. Mrs. Christmas strives to help students master essential reading, writing, and computational skills. Through high expectations and a positive attitude toward all students, Mrs. Christmas has been able to create learning environments that stimulates student learning and academic success.

Is Your Child Struggling with Math? A’s Academy Can Help!
Research shows that natural ability is not required for a student to succeed at math. While natural talent does help some children get ahead of the curve, which is particularly true in lower grades, a study by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim showed that the biggest predictor of success was a positive attitude and practice. One of the best ways to positively affect both a positive attitude and practice is to enlist the help of a private, in-home tutor.

Science
Is Your Child Struggling with Science? A’s Academy Can Help!
Children usually begin studying basic scientific principles in grades 3 to 6 and continue studying science until grade 12. Having a tutor is especially fundamental for science because much of science requires processing large amounts of information and effectively retaining it; therefore, the nature of studying science makes retaining information challenging.
Every academic school year encompasses a different area of science and often without any overlap in knowledge. For example, different levels of math build on each other, reinforcing skills and knowledge as a student grows. In contrast, biology and physics do not build on each other, so students essentially start from scratch every year. With no opportunity for building on their knowledge, they jump into new areas of science with no preparation or prior knowledge available to them. Having a tutor during this endeavor will afford students a chance to experience greater levels of success.
